County fills facilities position
NORWICH – A new director of facilities was recommended to the Chenango County Board of Supervisors this morning for consideration.
The Agriculture, Buildings & Grounds Committee began interviewing candidates in November and selected Julie A. Gates, of Oxford, for the appointment. The buildings and grounds department had been without a superintendent for more than two years.
The position pays $45,000 and Gates would report to work on Jan. 5.
The county board met this morning in its first day of annual session for 2009. Also on the agenda was to be the appointment of board chairman.
