Letter from The War Department

My father, Samuel Reuben, was part of the War Effort during World War II.

His Blinker Training Machine helped to save lives and keep our nation free.

I have a war time letter dated April 26, 1944 from Lieutenant J. A. Cameron, USMS, to Lieut. Commdr. Hollis, USMS, on War Shipping Administration stationery for the Training Organization of the United States Maritime Service:


Subject: Blinker Training Machine.

This is to introduce Samuel Reuben, Jr., inventor of the above Machine who (had) demonstrated a training unit in my presence… My findings are as follows:

-- The combined oscillator and visual practice machine was found to be very satisfactory.
