AFTON – New York State Police are searching for a 23-year-old Afton woman after family members reported her disappearance Saturday.

State Police Investigator Jamie Bell said Yvonne Koepke was last seen at 9 a.m. Saturday, leaving her Afton residence along state Rt. 7 in her light green 2004 Chevrolet Malibu.

“She was possibly seen at a convenience store in the Afton area at around 2:30 p.m. by witnesses, and we’re working to confirm that,” Bell said. Police are currently reviewing the store’s videotapes and have launched a large search effort in the Afton area, which included dispatching a state police helicopter Monday.

Bell said police were not ruling out foul play.
