Man fights with court officers after refusing judge’s order

NORWICH – A man who was ordered to jail resisted arrest and wrestled with officers in Norwich City Court Thursday.

The Norwich Police Department responded to the scene at One City Court Plaza and arrested 19-year-old Nicholas M. Boyce of Norwich, charging him with criminal contempt, resisting arrest, obstructing government administration and harassment, said Norwich Police Chief Joseph Angelino.

Boyce was arraigned Friday before Norwich City Court Judge James Cushman over trespassing charges and was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $500 cash bail.
