GREENE – Coming off a hard-fought win over Sidney the night before, Greene breezed to its 10th win this season Tuesday against Unadilla Valley.
The Trojans (10-0) had seven players score during a 20-7 second period – Erin Smith leading with five markers. “We shared the ball well and had a lot of assists as a team,” said Greene coach Dave Gorton. “When we have balanced scored, we’re tough to stop.”
Barb Borst scored 14 points, Megan McDermott added 10, and Abby Wentlent picked up six assists off the bench. All 11 Greene players that suited for the contest found the scoring column as well.
Amanda Button scored 11 points to lead UV.

B-G 60, Afton 53
BAINBRIDGE – Afton whittled B-G’s lead to one point in the fourth quarter, but had no answer for Dani Conway. Conway scored 18 of her game-high 32 points in the fourth, and made 12-of-16 foul shots to open up the margin.
“It’s a big win in our division,” said B-G coach Bob Conway. “Harpursville, Afton, and us are all in the mix. Harpursville hasn’t lost, and we didn’t want to be two games out.”
Freshman Shania Vandermark had her best game as a varsity player. Coming off the bench, Vandermark posted a double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds.
B-G is at Hancock Friday.

OXFORD – Oxford played with confidence from the start, and rolled to a division victory over Deposit Tuesday night.
Haley Witchella scored nine points in the first quarter, and led the Blackhawks with 14 on the night. Alyshia Crawford added 11, and Danielle Murphy scored all eight of her points in the second half. Chelsea Farrell led the defense with nine boards.
“We thought this was a winnable game, and we set the tone in the first half with good intensity,” said Oxford coach Chris Palmer.
Oxford is at Harpursville Friday.

S-E boys and girls win
LITTLE FALLS – Sherburne-Earlville’s boys and girls posted 5-0 shutout victories over West Canada Valley Monday night at Gorge View Lanes in Little Falls.
Kim Johnson had a match-high 257 game en route to a 594 series. Korilynn Perry added a 577 triple, and Kiamesha Philhower a 560 set.
On the boys’ side, Mike Wilson posted three 200-plus games, and his 650 series led S-E. Josh Llewellyn was next at 635, and Andrew Symonds was two pins back at 633. Overall, the Marauders finished with 3,043 pins to improve to 6-0 on the season.

Boys’ Swimming

Chenango Forks 96, Norwich 80
NORWICH – Powerhouse Chenango Forks built a comfortable lead, and swam exhibition over the final two events in cruising past the Tornado Tuesday night.
In a showdown of two top STAC swimmers, Dan Maximowicz edged NHS senior Dan Wenzel in the 100-yard freestyle. Wenzel swam a season-best 51.76 to fall short by just over a second.
Wenzel did grab a win in the 200 individual medley, one of four overall victories for Norwich on the night. Ryan Cambron (100-yard breaststroke, Talon Schroeder (500-yard freestyle), and the 400-yard freestyle relay added first for Norwich.
