Arrest made in South New Berlin robbery

The New York State Police at Norwich have made an arrest involving the armed robbery of the Quickway convenience store on State Route 8 in South New Berlin, which occurred on January 7, 2009.

On January 20, 2009, State Police at Norwich arrested Joel L. Lewis (08/06/86), 104 Parker Hollow Rd. Oxford NY, for Robbery in the First degree, a class B Felony. Lewis was arraigned in the Town of New Berlin Court, and remanded to the Chenango County Jail.

The weapon used in the crime has been recovered, and was determined to have been stolen from a vehicle from Otsego County, in the December 2008.

The New York State Police were assisted during the investigation by the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office, and the Town of New Berlin Police Department.
