VHCA boys and girls sweep hoops contests
VHCA 41, Baldwinsville 26
VHCA overcame a nine-point deficit at the end of the first quarter by holding Baldwinsville Christian Academy to 12 points over the final three quarters.
Faith Caster scored 12 in the first quarter for BCA leading her club to a 14-5 lead over the Crusaders. Caster was limited to just four points the rest of the game.
Amanda Evans scored 13 points for VHCA, all coming after a scoreless first period to lead her team to the win. Sarah Miedema added nine points.
VHCA 38, New Life Christian 30
Miedema went 12-for-16 from the foul line – a perfect 6-for-6 in the third quarter – and finished with a game-high 22 points in the second of three VHCA wins last week.
Miedema had 10 in the first half and Hannah Miles all six of her points leading the Crusaders to a 23-11 halftime advantage.
VHCA 48, Oneonta Community School 11
Valley Heights jumped out to a 14-0 lead after one period against Oneonta Community school last week.
Miedema scored in every quarter finishing with a game-high 15 points, Evans was next with 14 points, and Miles added 10 points in the win.

VHCA 56, Baldwinsville Christian Academy 33
Luke Halberg led three Valley Heights Christian Academy boys finished in double figures scoring in a win over BCA last weekend.
Halberg had 19 of his points after three periods lifting his club to a double-digit lead. Ryan Rose and Justin Miller each bagged 12 points apiece in the victory.
VHCA 68, Port City Royals 26
Valley Heights led 36-15 in the first half, and never looked back in a rout of the Royals last week.
Seven different VHCA players had at least two baskets topped by Halberg and his 24 points. Ryan Rose was next with 12 markers, and Reid Rose scored nine points.
