Arts Council presents singing sensation Stig Rossen in concert Feb. 15
NORWICH – International singing sensation Stig Rossen and his ensemble will warm up a cold February night when the Chenango County Council of the Arts brings “Brilliantly Broadway! Perfectly Pops!” to the Martin W. Kappel Theater in Norwich at 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15.
Denmark’s Stig Rossen is a masterful tenor, an accomplished actor and the vocal phenomenon of countless sold out international tours. From the very first measure of Broadway songs such as “This is the Moment” and “Music of the Night,” Stig captivates his audience. “Brilliantly Broadway! Perfectly Pops!” is filled with some of Stig’s pop and Broadway favorites and runs the gamut between powerful ballads such as “Gethsemane” and “Vincent” as well as his signature piece “Bring Him Home” to lusciously light tunes including “The Lady in Red,” “The Last Farewell” and “Perhaps Love.”
“Brilliantly Broadway! Perfectly Pops!” is much more than an evening with a talented tenor. Having performed the role of Jean Valjean in “Les Miserables” more than 2,000 times in theaters around the world – including the prestigious Palace Theatre in London – Stig Rossen exudes a level of stage presence that is rarely seen. Since 1998, Stig has released 11 solo albums selling more than 1,000,000 copies around the world. Families will recognize his voice talent from Disney’s Mulan, Mulan 2 and Lilo & Stitch. Stig has appeared in numerous television specials around the world including the recent PBS special “This is the Moment.”
“Brilliantly Broadway! Perfectly Pops!” starring Stig Rossen is the fourth performance in the Chenango County Council of the Arts’ 2008/09 Performance Series and is sponsored by Mead Westvaco. Upcoming performances include Barrage on March 7 and Montana Skies on April 25.
Tickets range in price from $15 to $23, with discounts for seniors and members of the CCCA. Student tickets are $10. The Chenango County Council of the Arts is located at 27 West Main Street, Norwich. Tickets may be reserved by phone at 336-ARTS (2787) or online at www.chenangoarts.org.
