Decker to attend conference
NORWICH – Chenango County Board of Supervisors Chairman Richard B. Decker will join those representing every county in the state tomorrow for the annual New York State Association of Counties’ Legislative Conference in Albany.
Decker, R-North Norwich, said he would be accompanied by the chairmen from Delaware and Otsego counties.
“We share the same concerns about what’s going to be cut from the budget and what isn’t and hope to find out news about which direction the state is going,” said Decker this morning.
Chenango County Public Works Director Randy Gibbon will also attend the annual event.
The conference includes a lineup of speakers and programs that focus on New York’s economy and the challenges facing state and county government budgets.
The following are scheduled to address the conference on Tuesday: Governor David Paterson, Speaker Sheldon Silver, Senate Republican Leader Dean Skelos, Assembly Republican Leader James Tedisco and Senate Majority Leader Malcolm Smith.
The New York State Association of Counties is a bipartisan municipal association serving all 62 counties of New York State including the City of New York.
