County offers financial assistance to new Sherburne business
NORWICH – Chenango County will apply for a $750,000 community development block grant from New York State to assist a home manufacturer in its $6.5 million purchase of Sherburne-based Lok-N-Logs.
Commerce Chenango President Maureen Carpenter outlined the agreement being forged between Barkmann Master Carpenter Homes and the county before a meeting of the Board of Supervisors Monday.
The German company manufactures zero energy homes and is completing the aquisition of Lok-N-Logs properties on state Rt. 12, including the recently completed, 57-acre model village, as well as the former cotton mill in the village.
