Boeltz receives postseason
honors
ONEONTA – Sophomore women’s volleyball player, Megan Boeltz (Greene), was recently named an All-SUNYAC second team player, and was also selected to the SUNYAC All-Academic team.
Boeltz emerged as a top middle blocker in 2008 leading the team with 138 blocks, an average of just over one block per game. She had 191 kills and led the squad with a .283 hitting percentage.
Boeltz was one of 51 Oneonta State athletes to make the All-Academic team, and one of just 21 named to the Commissioner’s list. To qualify for the award, the student must be a varsity athlete and have at least a 3.3 grade point average in the fall semester.
Lathrop wins America East title
BOSTON – Ashlee Lathrop (Sherburne-Earlville), a junior on the University of New Hampshire women’s track and field team, captured the weight throw title at the America East track and Field Championships Feb. 20-21 at Boston University.
Lathrop, a high school record-holder for S-E in the discus and shot put, broke New Hampshire’s school record in the wight throw three times this season, and was the America East’s Women’s Track Performer of the Week for week-ending Dec. 7.
