Supervisor aims for better parking at county office building

NORWICH – A lack of designated parking for the public in front of the Chenango County Office Building has become a pet peeve of the supervisor from Lincklaen and, as chairman of the Personnel Committee, he has made a suggestion to do something about it.
“We need to know who’s parking out front. There are no spots for the public and, in some cases, employees may be taking up spots,” Wayne C. Outwater said this week.
Outwater suggested parking stickers for employees’ vehicles, monitored by the Buildings and Grounds Department.
The committee discussed whether another employee parking lot was needed and whether portions of the front lot on Court Street should be designated for the public only. A motion was made, seconded and passed to refer the matter to the Agriculture, Buildings & Grounds Committee.
