City looks at third round of funding from Restore NY grant

NORWICH – After receiving $300,000 last year as part of the Restore New York grant program, the city is looking at a third round of funding and hoping they’ll be able to secure money for additional projects.

Last week, City Community Development Specialist Todd Dreyer told the Finance / Personnel Committee that a third round of grant funding is available as part of the Restore New York program. A public hearing on the grant will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 21 at city court.

“We’re looking at possible projects to include in the application now,” Dreyer told the committee. Originally, he said, properties like the Unguentine building and the former Morrisville Campus were on the list; however, both of those properties were excluded from this round’s application for one reason or another. Currently, Dreyer explained, the city is looking at two smaller retail structures that could benefit from the grant.
