Police storm two City of Norwich homes in early morning raid
NORWICH – Police from four different agencies stormed two homes in the City of Norwich Friday morning, taking several people into custody over suspected drug activity.
“Police from the Norwich PD, County Sheriff’s Office, New York State Police and Greene PD worked together and entered two residences in the City of Norwich this morning, one at 72 Plymouth Street and another one at 31 Hickok Ave.,” said Norwich Police Chief Joseph Angelino at the scene this morning.
Eyewitnesses said police appeared at the “break of daylight,” at around 6 a.m. and rushed the two homes in full tactical gear, breaking down doors armed with shotguns and pistols.
“They just rolled up all of a sudden and rushed out of their cars. I couldn’t believe it. It was just like what happens in the movies,” said Plymouth Street neighbor Amy Dolittle, who lives next door.
