Guernsey hires new director
NORWICH – The Guernsey Memorial Library has hired a new director. Sarah Wiggins, formerly of Pennsylvania, took over the post of Library Director on Monday. “We are pleased to have a new director, and we look forward to having a long-term successful director on staff,” said Library Board Vice President Kathy Darrah.
The position of library director has been vacant since former director Melanie Battoe resigned in November. An audit performed by New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNappoli found that Battoe had made $15,000 in questionable purchases over a nearly two-year period.
Darrah said finding new director was a lengthy process, and the board is happy to have found a qualified candidate who they feel will do a wonderful job.
