Same Blood Folk at the EOH Arts Café

EARLVILLE – The Earlville Opera House Arts Café welcomes Same Blood Folk on Saturday, April 4. Same Blood Folk consists of cousins Zachary and Jenny Collins and their new drummer, Brendan O’Connor. They perform a wide variety of folk and rock originals with a style that resonates with the roots of Americana and traditional music, bluegrass and rock.

Zachary Collins displays his poetic lyrics and mesmerizing guitar style. He moves easily from acoustic to electric guitar, mandolin, and banjo.  Jenny Collins brings her richly textured voice and innovative songwriting to the band’s distinctly mature sound. Rich and clear as honey, her vocals add depth and character to songs she’s written and delightfully balanced harmony to duets.

Their innovative songwriting made them 2007 winners of the EOH Youth Showcase of Singers/Songwriters. They also add some covers to their shows to pay homage to songwriters they admire though adding a personal twist. Same Blood Folk has developed a strong following in the Central New York area.  The band has also had the honor of sharing the stage with names such as Gandolf Murphy & the Slambovian Circus of Dreams, Fetish Lane, Ron Palmer of Harry Chapin, and The McKrells.
