Oxford 4, Bainbridge-Guilford 1

OXFORD – Oxford maintained a one-game division lead in the loss column getting a complete-game two-hitter from senior pitcher P.J. Hubman Monday.

Hubman didn’t allow a baserunner past second base until the seventh inning striking out 13 B-G batters.

At the plate, Hubman popped a solo homer in the third inning for the first run of the game. In the sixth, Eddie Grundner scored on a botched squeeze play, and John Corbett added a two-run single. “Both pitchers (Hubman and B-G’s Paul Parsons) pitched well today,” said Oxford coach Chris Palmer. “P.J. had good control and he did a nice job of mixing speeds.”
