Norwich man accused of robbery
NORWICH – Police have charged a Norwich man with felony robbery after he allegedly attacked a pedestrian in the City of Norwich Thursday night and made off with the contents of his wallet.
The Norwich City Police Department arrested 28-year-old Sandy Lewis Beeching of 29 Court Street, City of Norwich, and charged him with second degree robbery, a C class felony and fourth degree grand larceny, an E class felony.
At around 8:44 p.m. Thursday, police responded to Beebe Avenue after receiving a report of a strong arm robbery. Police said the victim was attacked from behind and punched repeatedly.
According to police, the victim was knocked to the pavement while Beeching went through the man’s pockets and stole an undisclosed amount of money.
