Accused Edmeston robber walked out of bank with $6,500
EDMESTON –After passing a note to the teller, police say the man charged with robbing the NBT in Edmeston walked out with about $6,500 in cash.
“According to the police reports, it looks like the defendant left the location with approximately $6,500 in cash,” said Otsego County District Attorney John M. Muehl Wednesday.
The defendant, 38-year-old David A. Lolik of Edmeston, turned himself into police May 31 after state police released his photograph and officially declared him a person of interest in the case.
He is charged with third degree robbery, a Class D felony carrying a maximum sentence of up to seven years in state prison. He has pleaded not guilty and waived his right to a felony in Town of Edmeston court yesterday. He is currently represented by Attorney James P. Ferrari of the Otsego County Public Defender’s Office.
Lolik remains incarcerated at the Otsego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond.
