Data collectors going door to door
GUILFORD – The Town of Guilford Assessor’s Office would like to advise that beginning in June, and throughout the summer, data collectors will visit land owners with the Township of Guilford. “Our objective is to update or property information and eliminate any discrepancies which appear on our tax records,” said assessor Susan McIntyre.
The data collectors will have photo ID and are experienced in the process of collecting this information. They will ask permission to measure the exterior of all structures located on your property; and also gather pertinent information with regard to the size of your lot, age of home, number of rooms, type of fuel, heating system, etc. and any improvements that have been made in the past few years.
“Your assistance in gathering this information will be appreciated and beneficial to all. Without your cooperation, the Data Collectors will be required to take on the difficult task of ‘guess-timating’ the facts which will not be to anyone’s advantage,” McIntyre said. If you are not home when the data collector stops by, you will find a card in your door advising you of their visit. The local authorities have been advised of this project and will have a record of all data collectors in the area.
If you have any questions, contact McIntyre at 316-4259.
