Book sale this Saturday

OXFORD – The Oxford Memorial Library will be holding a book sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sat., June 13. The book sale will be held in the upstairs program room. There will be a large selection of items including hardcover fiction and non-fiction, paperbacks, kids books, and videos.
“One of the things that make the Oxford Memorial Library Book Sale unique is that we do not price our items, we simply ask for a donation,” explained Library Director Nancy Wilcox. “We trust to the goodness and generosity of people when donating and we have not been disappointed.”
According to Wilcox, the donation system saves hours of staff and volunteer time in marking and setting up the books for sale. Money for the book sale helps support the library in various ways, particularly with children’s programs and operating the branch library in McDonough, she said.
The McDonough Branch Library will also be holding a book sale on Saturday, July 4 and Wilcox said another sale is planned for the Oxford library later in the summer as well.
Other upcoming events include a book signing and program featuring local author Suzanne Bloom at 6:30 p.m. on Thurs., June 11 at 6:30, as well as a series of Computer Classes being held at the library through June 16.
Contact the Oxford Memorial Library at 843-6146, or stop by the library, for more information.
