Norwich boy obtains rank of Eagle Scout
NORWICH – Ninth grade Norwich High School Student Joshua Mahannah recently completed all of the requirements necessary to obtain Boy Scouts of America’s most prestigious rank.
To obtain the rank of Eagle Scout, Mahannah fulfilled advancements from Boy Scout to Life Scout and completed 11 required merit badges, and several others. As his Eagle Scout Service Project, Mahannah chose to revitalize the Auburn Park, which included planning and managing it to a successful completion and raising the necessary funds. Mahannah was able to manage his project, saving money left over to have a picnic for the neighbors of the Auburn Park community.
At the age of 6, Mahannah joined Pack 62 as a Tiger Cub and continued in the Cub Scouting Program to complete his Arrow of Light. Camping, church, family, school, music and community became a huge part of his life and continue to be.
