Four arrested on way to Echo Lake festival

COVENTRY – On Friday, New York State Police arrested David Weiss, 26, Meir Shaul, 33, and Guy Tamari, 26, all from New York City, for third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a class B felony.

State Police say the three were found in possession of approximately 5 grams of cocaine after Troopers observed them attempting to discard other drug-related evidence from their vehicle as they approached the road check. In addition, Weiss was charged with driving while his ability was impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor.

All three defendants were arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court and remanded to the Chenango County Jail pending $50,000 cash bail. The Chenango County Sheriff’s Department assisted with this investigation. Additional charges may be filed pending further investigation and laboratory analysis.
