Teen accused of threatening Oxford youths with knife

OXFORD – The Oxford Police Department arrested a teen for brandishing a knife and threatening three youths after they allegedly heckled him as he drove down the street.

The Oxford PD arrested Shane M. Roach, 19, of McDonough, Tuesday morning and charged him with second degree reckless endangerment, second degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child, all misdemeanors. He was also charged with disorderly conduct, a violation.

Police say Roach displayed a knife to threaten three 13-year old boys.

“Roach was driving his car when he came upon the boys, who were on bicycles,” said Oxford Police Chief Rich Nolan.

“He believed they said something to him, so he stopped his car in the middle of the road and approached them,” Nolan said.
