District names new Perry Browne principal
NORWICH – The Norwich City School District has selected long-time district educator Jennifer Post to fill the top leadership position at Perry Browne Intermediate School.
Post, who was appointed to the position during a special meeting of the Norwich City school board on Friday, will assume her new role as building principal on Aug. 10.
“I think we’re all looking forward to good things from Jen,” said Superintendent Gerard O’Sullivan, following the appointment.
Post will replace Heather Collier, whose letter of resignation was accepted by the board on July 1.
According to Deputy Superintendent Margaret Boice, Post will receive $82,750 in compensation in her new role, which includes longevity for her 22 years with the district.
During her time at Norwich, Post has held several positions including, most recently, three years as Summer School Principal and two as the district’s Teacher on Assignment in English Language Arts.
According to O’Sullivan, several internal candidates are being considered to fill Post’s Teacher on Assignment position before the start of the next school year in September.
“Nothing definite has been decided on who that person will be,” he said.
