Board approves superintendent’s contract extension
NORWICH – Superintendent Gerard O’Sullivan will remain with the Norwich school district for four more years, according to the terms of a contract approved by the board of education on Wednesday.
The contract, which is retroactive to July 1, will extend through June 30, 2013. Under the terms of the agreement, O’Sullivan’s salary will increase by 3 percent from the $148,294 he currently receives in compensation to $152,743 per year for the remainder of the contract period. Any future increases would have to be approved by the board, according to District Clerk and Deputy Superintendent Margaret Boice.
