Blocked punt gives Milford winning TD

BROOKLYN – A blocked punt in the fourth quarter resulted in the winning touchdown for Milford Academy in a 28-21 victory over Globe Institute at Aviator Field in Brooklyn Saturday.
Tied at 21-21, Jordan Thompson of Clay, New York blocked a punt and fell on the ball in the endzone for the final margin of victory.
The win levels the Falcons’ mark at 1-1 on the season as they prepare for their homecoming game this Saturday at 7 p.m. at Fish Field against Southern Tech of North Carolina.
University of Florida recruit, Travon Van, backed up a five-TD day the previous week with a 10-yard touchdown run. Michael Bickley scored on a 35-yard TD pass from Mark Giubilato, and Casey Calvin added a three-yard TD run in the third quarter.
Falcons defensive tackle, Chris Henderson, made five tackles and was named his team’s defensive player of the game.
