NORWICH – A rabid skunk was discovered earlier this month in the City of Norwich, health and public safety officials are reporting.

The animal was found in the northwest corner of the city by police on Sept. 1, City Code Enforcer Jason Lawrence said. No one was hurt or exposed in the incident.

To prevent further attraction to residential areas, Lawrence is reminding residents to store garbage in secure, covered containers at the curb, as required by the city’s garbage ordinance.
