County’s 20-year-old ethics policy causes state comptroller’s audit
NORWICH – Chenango County supervisors were notified last week that their government would be audited by the New York State Comptroller’s Office due to an “ethics oversight.”
Board of Supervisors Chairman Richard B. Decker met yesterday in a closed door meeting with officials from the Comptroller’s office.
The county’s ethics law is dated 1990. Chairman of the county’s Safety & Rules Committee Janice O’Shea said her committee was recently asked to create a subcommittee that would review the policy.
