Speeder caught without a license and drugs in the car

COVENTRY – A man speeding in excess of 80 miles an hour was pulled over by Chenango County Sheriff deputies last week and found to be driving with a suspended license and to have narcotics in his car.
The office arrested Zachary E. Skeval of 29 Jewitt Ave, Cortland, and charged him with multiple possession charges and driving infractions.
While on patrol, a deputy allegedly passed Skeval as he was traveling at 83 miles and hour in a posted 55-mile-an-hour zone along state Highway 206 in the Town of Coventry on Sept. 25.
The officer pulled over the vehicle and discovered that Skeval had a suspended license. The deputy then removed the defendant from the vehicle and conducted a routine search of the vehicle’s interior, where he reportedly discovered a pipe containing marijuana in plain sight, sitting inside an alcove on the driver’s door.
Raising the officer’s suspicions, a more extensive search of the vehicle was then conducted and revealed several packets of heroin, several pills of ecstasy and prescription drugs hidden inside.
Skeval was officially charged with two counts of seventh degree possession of a controlled substance, two counts of having prescription medication not in original containers, unlawful possession of marijuana, third degree unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and other traffic violations.
