Everyone’s running unopposed in McDonough
McDONOUGH – In the Town of McDonough, the town’s supervisor, two town councilmen, the clerk and highway superintendent are all running for re-election without opposition.
Supervisor Arrington Canor is seeking his third, 2-year term in office.
“As a councilman for six years and town supervisor for several, I have always tried to keep taxes as low as possible and still keep the town running smoothly,” Canor said.
The town leader realizes that this will be even more of a challenge in coming years.
“These next few years will be most challenging as the state is going through a fiscal crisis and the towns get the bill for it,” he said, particularly with dropping sales tax revenues, un-funded state mandates and rising retirement costs.
