Chenango River Theatre posts strong growth for 2009 

GREENE – Despite an economy in recession, Chenango River Theatre, the Binghamton area’s only professional, Equity non-profit theatre company, showed a strong increase in both season tickets and overall attendance for the company’s third season of four plays, totaling 57 performances. 

Capping the season with the company’s highest attendance ever was the season-ending production of “Talley’s Folly,” breaking the record set earlier in the season by the quirky comedy “More Fun Than Bowling,” which proved to be another high point of the year.

Season ticket sales increased by over 50 percent in 2009, accelerating the company’s fast growth track.  Overall attendance was up more than 13 percent, with particularly strong growth noted for the company’s non-musical productions.
