Cyclones beat Sherman Park of Nottingham, 26-0

ROME – The Norwich Cyclones’ “A”  team stopped Sherman Park of Syracuse, 26-0 in the first round of the Empire State Classic Tournament here Saturday.

The Cyclones mounted a 56-yard scoring drive in the first quarter, after holding the Bulldogs, with Keegan Franklin taking it in from the five.

Spencer Stone recovered a Bulldogs fumble at the 15 in the second quarter, with Michael Oralls scoring from the one for a 12-0 halftime Cyclones lead.

Oralls scored again on a two-yard plunge in the third, this one set up by a 32-yard run by Randy Stokes.  Trent Stone recovered another Bulldogs fumble at the 17, also in the third stanza.  This time, Michael Sutton hit Frank Garcia with the 17-yard TD toss.  Stokes then kicked a two-point conversion.
