Festival of Trees items available for view, bidding
NORWICH – This week everyone is invited to stop by the downtown Norwich branch of NBT to view and bid on the many holiday trees, decorations, and gift baskets made by volunteers to support Chenango Memorial Hospital. These items are part of the bi-annual Festival of Trees event sponsored by the hospital’s Auxiliary.
In addition to the decorated Christmas trees, centerpieces, wreaths, and gift baskets, auction items include a week’s stay at a vacation home in The Villages in Florida, a week’s stay in a condominium in Myrtle Beach, NFL tickets, NHL tickets, and Syracuse basketball tickets. There also is a raffle tree on display at NBT. The tree is decorated to celebrate Sesame Street’s 40th anniversary and includes books and toys.
Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5.
The Festival of Trees culminates in the Festival of Trees ball held on Saturday night. This is where the silent auction is completed. Winning bidders do not have to be present. They will be notified by telephone. The hospital Auxiliary welcomes everyone to come into the bank to enjoy this first taste of the holiday season and to admire the creativity and holiday spirit of the generous volunteers who donated these seasonal treasures. Proceeds from the auction and ball go toward the Auxiliary’s support of Chenango Memorial Hospital’s programs and services.
