Norwich police warning citizens to lock up

NORWICH – The Norwich Police Department is warning local citizens to lock their cars and homes after a recent rash of home burglaries and thefts from vehicles.

“All city residents are encouraged to secure their property no matter the time of day. Valuables should be removed from vehicles and homeowners should take precautions by locking their homes, doors and windows even if they are away from their property for short periods of time,” said Norwich Police Chief Joseph Angelino.

The Norwich PD has been investigating a series of burglaries and thefts that have taken place around the City of Norwich since Nov. 28.

Angelino said officers are investigating the complaints by conducting neighborhood interviews and speaking with local residents in hopes of locating potential witnesses.
