Arts Council names Members Show winners

NORWICH – The Chenango County Council of the Arts, Norwich, has announced the Best of Show and Honorable Mention Awards for its annual Members’ Exhibit currently on display in the Mariea Brown and Raymond Loft Galleries.
Best of Show was awarded to Edmond Caputo for his wood, acrylic and gold leaf painting “Misconception.” As Best of Show winner, Mr. Caputo will have his own one- man exhibit at the Council in 2010/11 and his work featured on the 2010 CCCA poster.
Honorable Mention Awards went to the following artists:
Mark Larsen for his photograph “Rexford Falls Bridge”; Linda Mason for her stenciling on wood piece “Flowers and Fruit with Greek Key Border; CaBri Glassworks for “Rennie’s Lady”; Michael Price for his painting “Susquehanna Valley” and Jackie Gimson for her charcoal/collage photo “Reflection of the City”.
The exhibit was juried by Henry Drexler and Leigh Yardley.
The Members’ Exhibit will run through Dec. 17, with gallery hours of Monday through Friday 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibit was sponsored by the Thomas and Esther Flanagan Foundation. The CCCA Holiday Gift Shop is running concurrently with affordable gifts by local artists.
