OXFORD – Unatego held Oxford to just one field goal over the final five minutes and five seconds, and sealed a fourth-quarter comeback win making 10-of-11 free throws in the last quarter.

Oxford started the fourth quarter on an 11-4 spurt to lead 58-51. Cory Seiler made two free throws, and assisted on three baskets – twice to Jeremy Nelson and one to Zach Barry. Nelson added a driving layup that moved the lead to seven points.

The Spartans’ rally began, fittingly, with two free throws from Dale Rifenbark. Will May drained a three ball after an inbounds play, and May’s two free throws with 2:04 left knotted the contest.

Oxford was plagued by fourth-quarter turnovers, five of those coming during a four-minute dry spell between baskets. Nelson’s jumper from the left elbow tied the game at 60-60, but on the ensuing possession, Cody Komenda’s driving layup on the baseline put his club ahead for good.
