COLUMBUS – An 85-year-old Town of Sherburne man died instantly Saturday when the four-wheeler he was operating was struck by a pick-up truck as he removed snow from a roadway.

The New York State Police said Monday that Harry R. Nice of 233 Casey Road was operating an ATV with a plow attachment to push snow across the road into a nearby ditch when he crossed into the path of a passing motorist.

Troopers said the first emergency crews responding found Nice dead at the scene and that Chenango County Medical Examiner Dr. John Cruz also responded to the incident. Police listed the cause of death as severe chest trauma.
