Holy Family field trips enhance science education
Students at Holy Family School love to experience science first hand. Recently, students got a chance to do so with two field trips. The first was to the Ho Tung Visualization Lab and Planetarium at Colgate University. There, students watched state-of-the-art visual graphics and learned about star constellations, how to identify and find such constellations, and the mythology behind them. During a second field trip, students traveled to the Joseph L. Popp, Jr. Butterfly conservatory in Oneonta. There, students immersed themselves in a jungle setting to collect images from free ranging wildlife. Through this trip, students were able to continue to benefit from the ongoing collaboration between the art and science classes during the wildlife photography unit.
