Maine-Endwell 97, Norwich 82
NORWICH – Norwich split the 12 first-place finishes evenly with Maine-Endwell, but the Spartans’ better overall depth gave them the meet victory over the Purple on senior recognition night.
Norwich’s Trey Ostrom swam a season-best 50.60 to win the 100-yard freestyle. Ostrom also swam a leg on the 200-free relay that put up a season-best time of 1:38.99. Also in that quartet was Lucas Follett, Talon Schroeder, and Mike Reilly.
“We’re still trying to get best times with all of the yardage we’re swimming,” said Norwich coach Jon Aikins. “The ultimate focus is sectionals. We’ll taper (the yardage) soon, and if all goes well, we should see some time drops and good performances at sectionals.”
Reilly was a winner in diving, and Schroeder added a victory in the 500-yard freestyle. Schroeder teamed with Curtis Woodard, Greg Todd, and Scott Sihocki to win the meet-closing 400-yard freestyle relay.
