Norwich resident blamed for Eaton accident

EATON – Four adults and four children were injured in a motor vehicle collision Friday evening after a Norwich man, who was allegedly driving on a suspended license, passed through a stop sign and into the path of another family’s vehicle.

Two Chenango residents were among the eight hurt in the Madison County crash that took place at about 7 p.m. on Friday in the Town of Eaton, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

According to police, 19-year-old Dustin J. Conkey of 102 Horstman Trailer Park, Norwich, was driving a 1994 Chevrolet traveling north on Route 46 at the intersection of Route 20 and allegedly passed through the stop sign intersection with three other passengers in his car – Amanda White, 11, of Sherburne, Justina M. Manwarren, 20, and Nikka R. Manwarren, 21, both of Chittenango.

In an issued statement, the office said, “All injuries in the Conkey vehicle were non-life threatening and ranged from complaint of pain to possible fractures.”

Conkey’s vehicle was struck by an eastbound 1984 Honda operated by 48-year-old Scott D. Wiley of Richfield Springs.
