Rollover in North Norwich slows Rt. 12 traffic

NORTH NORWICH – Traffic along state Highway 12 between North Norwich and Sherburne was slowed to one lane for about an hour this morning after a woman lost control of her sport utility vehicle on the snow-covered road and rolled the vehicle over.
The North Norwich Fire Department along with the Norwich Ambulance responded to the accident at 7:25 a.m., roughly a mile north of the intersection of county Road 32 and state Route 12, in the Town of North Norwich.
Chenango County Sheriff’s deputies reported the vehicle’s operator, 27-year-old Cheryl White of West Edmeston, did not appear to suffer any serious injuries and was able to pull herself from the SUV and interact with responders at the scene. She was examined by Norwich EMS and released.
Police said White lost control of her vehicle during a brief but heavy snowfall while heading north towards Sherburne. She veered to the right of the road, losing control of the vehicle and flipped it onto its side, striking a mail box before coming to a stop in the northbound lane.
No tickets were issued in the accident.
