Harlem Rockets perform at UV this weekend
NEW BERLIN – The Unadilla Valley senior class will be hosting the Harlem Rockets for a night of family fun and entertainment on Saturday, Feb. 27. The comedy basketball team is fashioned after the internationally acclaimed Harlem Globetrotters and have been entertaining audiences for many years.
The Rockets, featuring two former members of world famous Harlem Globetrotters: Clarence “Mugsy” Leggett, and Devin “Mr. Biz” Thompson, will be taking on the All-Star studded team, the “UV RAYS”. This team is made up of your favorite UV Faculty, Staff, & Administrators. You don’t want to miss the hard hitting action of Magic Jackson, Tu Pac Locke, Decker the Dominator, King Kelly, Dr. M(ackey), Slamma Jamma Atwell, and Tenacious Tresta to name a few.
The action will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets may be purchased from a member of the senior class or the UV High School Office. Ticket prices are as follows:
• Advanced Pre-Sale Tickets: Students $6, Adults $7
• Day of Game Tickets: Students $7, Adults $8
With the purchase of an advance ticket, students (ages 7-17) will be allowed to attend a basketball clinic with the Rockets from 5-6 pm. Students will be split into age/ability levels and receive first hand basketball instruction from the Harlem Rocket players. Elementary and Middle School students must be accompanied by an adult who must also have an advance ticket.
You don’t want to miss the opportunity to receive hands-on instruction from members of the Rockets as well as the exciting action when the Harlem Rockets take on the “UV RAYS.” All proceeds will benefit the Class of 2010 as they raise money to offset the cost of their senior trip to Virginia Beach in June.
