P&C to stay open
NORWICH – Tops Markets announced today that it will retain the local P&C and all its associates, after nearly two months of store evaluations.
Tops Markets acquired the majority of bankrupt Penn Traffic’s assets, which included the P&C chain, on Jan. 29, for approximately $85 million.
“The heartfelt outpouring of support from community members and Mayor Joe Maiurano, in addition to the economically viable location, knowledgeable associate base and the positive condition of the store made it possible for Tops to retain the store and continue operating,” said Tops Markets’ Communications and Public Relations Manager Katie McKenna. “We’re very excited to begin serving the Norwich community, very excited.”
