Purple or White: Let the trash talk begin
NORWICH – Going by the Pep-o-Meters, Purple has already taken a slight lead against their White rivals in the annual knock-down, drag-out fight to see who has more school spirit at Norwich High School. But the White team’s sophomores and juniors aren’t ready to admit a Spirit Week defeat just yet.
“Our class is very competitive,” said 10th Grader Taylor Hagenbuch, who fondly remembers last year’s victory when as a Freshman she was on the triumphant Purple team. Her class has won the Homecoming float competition two years running, she said, and are not giving up.
She isn’t the only one with faith that White can overcome the odds.
“My hopes are high,” reported Junior Brian Carson.
“We’ve got some sleepers this year,” agreed his White teammate Frank Somich. Somich said White has the edge when it comes to sportsmanship, and he’s also predicting the team will reign supreme at Thursday night’s Talent Show, where he and his band, While Cities Sleep, are slated to perform.
