NORWICH – Hundreds of kids and families from across Chenango County are expected to help celebrate the 18th annual Healthy Kids Day at the Norwich Family YMCA this Saturday, according to YMCA Youth and Family Director Bonnie Tiffany.

“Healthy Kids Day is part of a nationwide initiative to promote healthy living among children and combat the ever-growing problem of childhood obesity in the United States,” said Tiffany, who added that this year’s theme is “Put play in your day.”

Activities for the event will include the Ross Park Zoo Mobile and demonstrations by Tribute Martial Arts and Fitness, Colgate University’s Frisbee and Kayak clubs, the Kopernik Observatory and numerous local organizations, according to Tiffany, who added that a presentation on Internet safety will be offered by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and information will be available on child identification cards.
