Cornelius named dean of Morrisville State’s Norwich campus
MORRISVILLE – Marsha L. Cornelius has been appointed dean of Morrisville State College’s branch campus in Norwich. Provost and Vice President for academic affairs, James Van Riper, made the announcement on April 8.
The Chenango County native has worked in multiple capacities in the college’s Norwich branch since 1997. Cornelius has served as interim dean for the past nine months, and was appointed interim director following former Dean Ted Nichols’ departure in 2008.
She has been an academic counselor and the community education coordinator for the Norwich campus, and served as secretary of the college’s School of Agriculture in Morrisville.
Cornelius received her doctorate in education from the University of Phoenix last June. She has a master’s in social sciences from Binghamton State University. The North Pharsalia native graduated from Otselic Valley High School.
She is a member of the federally-funded Liberty Partnership at Morrisville State College’s Norwich campus. She participates on Commerce Chenango’s Economic Development Roundtable and is a member of the board of directors for the Chenango Health Network.
