NORWICH – Roche’s Tavern owner Chris Roche said he’s “relieved and pleased” that Gary Beadle, and wife Merrie, will be taking over his annual Earth Day Celebration this year, which will benefit the City of Norwich Youth Bureau.

After over three decades of inviting patrons and friends to celebrate Earth Day at his South Edmeston tavern, and donating to a number of charities, organizations and individuals, Roche said he’s excited for Beadle, a longtime friend, and “hopes to get down there and give him my blessing and wish him the best.”

Those attending Saturday’s event will have the opportunity to participate in several raffles, two 50/50 drawings (3 and 7 p.m.) and may purchase Beadle’s Earth Day T-shirts for $10. 50/50 tickets are 1 for $1 and 6 for $5, with all proceeds from the event benefiting the city Youth Bureau.
