“Scouting for Food” aids food pantry

OXFORD – Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts in Oxford gathered food item donations for “Scouting For Food” on April 7. Through the generosity of Oxford residents, 626 non-perishable food items were collected and donated to the Oxford Food Pantry.

On March 31, Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts distributed “Scouting for Food” bags throughout the Village of Oxford. One week later, on April 7, the Scouts returned and collected hundreds of donated food items for the Pantry. They saw about a 15 percent increase in donations over last year.
