NORWICH – The American Cancer Society (ACS) and Chenango County Relay For Life are asking Chenango County residents, businesses, schools and organizations to help raise awareness for Relay For Life by painting the county purple on Tuesday, May 4.

Paint the County Purple is an offshoot of the ACS’s Paint the Town Purple Day, according to Relay For Life event co-chair Marie DeSarro, created by the ACS to kick off the Relay For Life season.

“We’re asking people in every corner of the county to show their support for Relay For Life by going purple,” said DeSarro. “It’s our hope that people wearing purple, putting up Relay For Life signs or decorating their store front or office in purple will encourage others to ask why, and hopefully get them talking about Relay For Life.”
